Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks are so much fun to read, with so many helpful tips, and little stories that you might have a hard time getting out of your comfy chair to actually get up and make one of the recipes!  But don’t do that, the results are always awesome, and you and your family will be thrilled.  They make great gifts, and they will become a well loved addition to anyone’s cookbook collection.  I have my own little Gooseberry Patch story now.  This past January I was going to Key West for a long girl’s weekend with my sister and sister-in-law, and I stopped by to see my brother in St. Augustine on my way down.  He has three daughters from 19 to 23 years old, and an 18 year old stepdaughter.  I wanted to take the girls a little something but really wasn’t sure what.  Then I looked over and saw those cookbooks, and I knew what to do.  I picked 4 different ones, passed them out, told them if they wanted to swap or share custody fine.  Well I heard the oldest daughter made a meal for the family that was really good. (She actually used them as guinea pigs to test out her skill before she made it for her boyfriend.) Jessica, keep cooking!
